Congratulations to the Phoenix U15'S

On Sunday 13th May 2012 , Tony Brady + Paul Butler's Phoenix u15's team played Dave Donovans U15's side for the SELKENT Green Shield.
The game was played in good spirits and Dave's team took an early well deserved lead. 5 minutes later Tony's side found them selves 2 nil down and out of the game.
Luckly conceding 2 early goals woke Tony's side up, and they managed to get back into the game with 2 goals before half time.
The game stayed level at 2-2 to full time and after extra time, Both teams did have chances to win the game, but some good saves and defensive blocks from both keepers meant that we were heading for a penalty shoot out!!!
10 penalty's 10 goals , Both keepers tried but could not save some very well taken kicks!
Then Tony's team score in Sudden death, and unfortunately Dave's penalty taker missed the target. That brought on great celebrations for the Phoenix Lions!
Tony has been running this team for over 7 seasons now, and that is their 1st cup/sheild win!!! well done !!!

But also well done to Dave Donovan's team, who played well and contributed to make it a great match!!

Also commiserations to Matt Leeds and the Phoenix u11 Pumas who lost in their sheild game 3-2 to Teviot Rangers.

Another big Congratulations to our unbeaten girls Team!! they not only won the league with all wins but on Sunday won the Kent League Cup to complete the Double!!! Well done Girls!!!

And Good Luck to the Phoenix u11 Lions who play Beacons in their Sheild Final this coming Sunday!
