Phoenix win 3-1 away to the Fish

Phoenix win 3-1 away to the Fish

On Saturday 12th April, Phoenix 1st team travelled away to Fisher Athletic.
Phoenix have been finding it hard to hit any decent form coming to the end of the season, with the last few weeks seeing us lose 3-1 away at Tunbridge and then a 2-2 draw at home to Deal Town.
Boylee and Becks with 4 games left this season are trying to get the team to a decent top half finish in our 1st season in the SCEFL.
Fisher play at Dulwich Hamlets ground, and we were greated by a steel band playing before kick off.
I think the music must have distracted the Phoenix players as they started the game badly without alot of direction, Phoenix for some reason lost the ability to string 2-3 passes together and we soon found our selves 1-0 down after a hopefully cross into the box caught Nashy off his line and went straight in.
5 Minutes laster Phoenix should have been 2 down , Fisher missed a sitter of a chance.
Phoenix managed to get a decent equaliser from Alex Nelson on the half hgour mark,
This goal seemed to breath life back into the Phoenix side and we started to play much better.
soon after another cracking goal from Sam Corn made it 2-1 .
The 2nd half saw Phoenix control the game and play again alot better , the 3rd goal was scored by Miles Cornwell and was well taken after a good team move.
The game over all sumed up the Phoenix season, a real mixed bag , But again with 3 games now left we would like to end the season with a run of 4 wins.

Next up on Saturday 19th April , our last home game vs Sevenoaks Town ( Managed by Mickey Hazard)
Please come along and support Phoenix!!!

2nd May – Out of Bounds Comedy Night – Will be a great night…always a really good evening

Thursday 8TH May – Our sponsor Mid Kent Metal and his spouse Lynn have been asking via Morty (got more chance with a crystal ball..) to hold a Psychic evening at the club, I am sure you are aware that these evenings are very popular in the Pubs/clubs. We should have seen this coming really.. again as the diary is so busy they never had a Ghost of a chance of booking this in for a weekend. So we are going to go for a Thursday night. I am not sure what goes on but hope we may do a few Spirits that night… we are waiting for more details but they have been given this date to arrange their evening, they may do some food probably a Ghooolash.. watch this space! Any Phoenix Teams wanting to get in touch with the other side can attend!

Friday 9th May – Jason Hart Memorial Charity Match

Saturday 10th May – Seniors Presentation Night

Friday 6th June – West Ham Fans Dream Night! I have booked Billy Bonds and Alvin Martin for the evening. This should be a great night, there will be a replica FA Cup for some photo’s, Memorabilia Auction & hoping for a couple of the F1 girls to come along will be £25 a head to include a modest supper, finer details to be arranged. I don’t plan on advertising this too widely as we have a lot of interest already. All guests will need to be seated for parts of the evening so we are limiting attendance to 70 people.
