U10 Tigers 4:1 Hayden. Starting the new year with a win

We started slowly and for the first 10 minutes the ball was mainly in our half but even during this first patch Hayden didn't come too close to scoring. Ryan and Jamie coped well and James did not need to make any particularly difficult saves. As the half progressed we grew stronger. Harry came very close when his header hit the cross bar from a corner. Ryan also came close from another corner but half time was 0:0.

In the 2nd half we turned up the gas. We played good passing possession football which had Hayden chasing shadows. Our first goal came from Emmanuel who hit a beautiful left footed shot from the edge of the area which beat the goalie at his near post. Our 2nd was a great passing move involving half the team which Regan finished neatly. Our 3rd was a fabulous Regan solo effort, he side footed the ball over the goalie from outside the area.

At 3:0 up we looked dominant. Harry tried an audacious shot from just inside the halfway line that missed by inches and the whole team seemed to be winning their individaul battles. Although Hayden got one back we never looked in trouble and when Emmanel finished the scoring with our 4th and his 2nd it was no more than we deserved.

Particular highlights of the day included how well our defense coped, how hard our mid field worked particularly tracking back to stifle any Hayden attacks and how well our boys kept the ball.
